Default Crankshaft Bearing Removal

Since everyone on the forum has been a lot of help with my engine rebuild I wanted to ask another question. How can I easily remove the bearings from the crankshaft? I want to save the shims if possible so I was thinking I would need to use a cut-off wheel and cut the outer race and then the inner race. Is there a better method?

Harbor Freight has a cheaper one, but this is what you need to get under the bearing.

What motor do you have?
There is never any reason to cut a bearing off a shaft. They are usually removed with a puller.

It's a 244cc 2 stroke engine.

Use a puller.

I got everything apart and pressed back together, new rings and piston. Now just have to get a few minutes to get it back in and fire it up! Thanks for the help.

Did you lube up the crank and crank seals? And everything else? No such thing as too much lube on a new motor.

Did you make sure that the piston went in the right way?

I lubed up the piston, rings, piston pin, bearings, etc., and made sure the piston was in the right direction. So far so good!

But did you lube up the crankshaft and seals? If not, they won't last but a few minutes.
