Speed Sensor Identification?
Folks,
I need a new speed sensor for my '02 DS (IQ) with a PQ Bandit on it. It appears as if there are two different types of speed sensors available; one for the GE motor and another one for the ADC. My issue is that the cart is 100 miles away so I can't go look at it to see what type I have. Would anyone know what motor would have been on the 2002? I want to say the IQs were all GE but I can't remember and I don't want to order unless I am sure. A hint is that, as I recall, my particular cart was some type of joint-venture between CC and General Motors to be street legal electric vehicles. I think that they were called Pathways. They had built in roll bars, seat belts, round turn signals that sat atop the front cowl, etc. if this makes sense to anyone. It won't kill me to wait until I get to the camp again to see what type of speed sensor I have but thought one of you experts might know and save me a weekend of waiting. I'll contact the PQ guys if no one here knows. Thanks |

Re: Speed Sensor Identification?
The ADC IQ motor hadn't been released yet in 2002. If you had your original motor rebuilt into a Bandit, you've got the GE motor.

Re: Speed Sensor Identification?
Unbelievably, I just came across a 5 year old post where some loon posted pics of the speed sensor he needed to replace. That loon was me. I have no recollection of ever doing that. My cart is actually a 2003. I have 6 carts and it's tough to remember which is which.
Thanks man. Very helpful and I appreciate it. |

Re: Speed Sensor Identification?
I don't want to beat this issue to death but does replacing the magnet repair a speed sensor? If so, should I consider getting a speed magnet for this cart? My cart is 21-22 mph with the bandit, which I am more than happy with, but a couple of more mph would be ok too.

Re: Speed Sensor Identification?
I don't think replacing the magnet only will fix the sensor, but there is no better time to replace the magnet than when the speed sensor is off. David (Revolution Golf Cars) sells a quality speed magnet...
