Is it critical the dash bar graph volt meter be correct?
So here is a Fluke DVM showing actual battery voltage but my dash meter sometimes is off as shown in pic. Is it critical the dash meter be correct? Does the dash meter get voltage fed from the batteries or what the motor controller thinks?volts1.JPG

Those bar graph meters are pretty much useless. Get yourself a digital readout meter from cartsunlimited.net (a site sponsor) and you'll always know what's really going on with your pack.

The bar graph meters are very often inaccurate and by their very nature imprecise. I switched to one that ScottyB sells that has the actual voltage display shown numerically.
On the bar graph you won't know if one bar is 0.1v or 0.7v, which is a huge difference in state of charge. |
