what keep oil from leaking out of the diff on an ezgo 1976 Textron electric 36 volt

well it depends on if it has ever been taken apart before. If it hasn't it most likely only had a bead of RTV (silicone) applied when it was put together. There is a gasket you can either buy, or get some material at an auto parts store and make your own. That's what I did, its a lot cheaper.

oops....well there are two penetrations. The most likely culprit will be the pinion shaft seal.

on mine it looks like a regular rear end from a car except for the shaft that come out

well there ya go.....the picture I posted was a newer diff. but the same thing applies. There is a "LIP SEAL" on the shaft.....and that is where its leaking.

well considering its a 27 year old cart, I bet it is. We have a section for folks doing restorations of older carts, you might pose this question to someone there, as they will have more info about where your looking for.
