Default Light kit wiring diagram

My 2000 TXT has an aftermarket light kit installed - the lights are cut into the fenders. There are 2 lamps in each ("parking" light and main headlight) with a red and black lead from each. I'm only interested in the main headlights.

The wiring is all gone except for rocker switch on the dash and stubs at the lights. Lamps are good (12V halogen).

I need to completely rewire them - any schematics out there?

Found this on an obscure search - looks like it came from this site, but author unknown. This look about right?

I would put the fuse after the switch. It could burn wires and switch before the fuse blows.

never seen fuse after switch

in fact the way you state it fuse is before switch to keep it from burning the switch

Thanks for the verification. Wiring is, as I thought, pretty straightforward and simple.

Got diverted away from finishing the project yesterday, but the new wiring is all roughed in now, so it shouldn't take too long to finish. Need to go out and get more wire ties though.

Will finish it today - sure hope the switch is still good. Fingers crossed!

Finished the wiring project with only 1 extra trip to the store - switch was roached.

Remaking the dash fill piece since the new switch is a different hole pattern. Just doing this one out of wood until I decide on final gauge cluster. Done with the fabrication & sanding. Sitting in primer now.

Thanks for the help with shaking off my wiring cobwebs.
