shuttering cart
have elec club car ds 48 volt. Cart shutters on take off in both directions. Checked battery pack and it shows 51 plus volts with no load. Each battery reads 8.3 to 8.5 volts with no load. Under load they will drop into mid 6 volt range. Is this enough power to operate properly? I read a thread that indicated that a weak battery pack might cause the shuttering. Is there another issue that might cause this problem?

Re: shuttering cart
All batteries dropping 2v or more under load are dropping a cell = dead.

Re: shuttering cart
Hook a multimeter to the pos and neg of the battery pack and go for a ride and see what the voltage drop is. if you see a big drop and don't have a load tester or hydrometer you can run the cart for a minute then jump off and check all the batteries voltage to see if one is way down. that will show you which battery is crapping out if it's a battery issue. if you have a mcor and not a vglide on your cart. it's probably the mcor going out if the batteries are good. i've replaced a lot of mcors because they and jerky like this at low speeds.
