What to expect from my first electric cart
I found what I think was a deal on Craigslist club car ds 36v I think 85 for $300 with charger runs drives great nothing fancy needs paint picked it up everything works from what I can tell batteries are from 06 I know it will probably need new batteries sometime soon I have had gas carts so I'm used to gas n go well I have what my wife calls a sickness a day goes bye and looking at carts on Craigslist and what do I see is a 2000 club car ds pretty nice with rear seat been for sale for a month for $1500 was lowered to $500 this is where the sickness comes in I bought it . What to do I know the 85 works runs drives but don't know anything about the 00 except it's nice should I switch body seats top to the older cart and scrap the rest .I have a 02 yamaha g16 lifted gasser and a 99 club car ds gasser but kinda like the battery cart but can't keep all of them...3 my limit (not looking on Craigslist for awhile)

Re: What to expect from my first electric cart
I have read on here that 36 volt carts tend to burn up components if you over load them with a lot of heavy loads that usually happen with the rear seat. Check that stickies and get the serial number for the 00 and it will tell you allot more about the cart. What are you going to use it for? When you know the answer to that question it makes it a lot easier to answer your question. For now expect to spend money.

Re: What to expect from my first electric cart
Was thinking of switching body's the rear seat I can put on the gasser was thinking of camp ground cruiser I go to swap meets no off road I have one for that not that I'll ever get it dirty it's the 00 body is painted ford blue like a gt350 with ford logo it was a ford dealer. That had the cart to run people around there lot would like to lower the cart from what I've read it's pretty easy I can't really work on cars anymore I use 2 canes to walk my 13 year old son does 90 percent of the work he's learning and it's Easy for me to teach him on these golf carts than a full size car .....

Re: What to expect from my first electric cart
the 2000 should be a 48 volt series cart with a v-glide . if so it is a great cart to build on and much better then the 85 IMO.
