no throttle response in reverse

I have a 2003 Club Car DS and in reverse it's either 0 speed or full speed. When pressing the accelerator you hear the relay click right away but nothing happens until the pedal is on the floor.

It works normal in forward. Any ideas? Makes for interesting backing.

Locate the micro-switches on the back of the F&R switch. The rear micro switch will have 3 wires on it. Green, Black, and White. Swap the black wire with the white wire. If your problem is now in the Forward position with a good working reverse, you have a failed half-speed resistor in the wire harness. If the issue still remains to be a problem in reverse, you probably have a melted F&R switch.
