Default Confirm if my batteries are OK please...

I just picked up a 2006 Club Car DS with the IQ system at a great price. Owner claims the batteries (4 x 12v Trojan T1275) are no more than 2 years old, and one is 1 year old...and I can only read one date code so I can't confirm.

Here's my measurements...I did this because I've never had an electric and we have some hills here (driving on road) and it does slow down going up them, not to a crawl but noticeably.

These hills are steep enough to elevate your breathing and heart rate if your walking them at a moderate pace and your in overall good health (I don't know how to measure grade). I weigh in at ~220 6' 2" tall for context.

7/26/2016 Voltage
Immediately after full charge 54.70
After 8 hours Rest Full Pack 51.60
After 8 hours Rest Battery 1 12.80
After 8 hours Rest Battery 2 12.90
After 8 hours Rest Battery 3 13.00
After 8 hours Rest Battery 4 12.80

Ride up moderate hill full throttle full pack 46.60
Ride up moderate hill full throttle Battery 1 11.80
Ride up moderate hill full throttle Battery 2 11.70
Ride up moderate hill full throttle Battery 3 11.70
Ride up moderate hill full throttle Battery 4 11.65

Flat full throttle full pack 49.85
downhill full throttle full pack 53.00

It sounds OK. Did the original owner grind the date code off the neg terminal? If you want to climb the hills faster you'll need more HP.

I'm ok with it slowing I at least wanted to confirm I don't need to drop a few hundred on new batteries.

Out of curiosity how would I go about getting more HP?

Six 8 Volt Batteries ( 600 to 800)
4 or 2 gauge cable set (100 to 150)
heavy duty solenoid (<100)
increased amperage controller (400 to 500)
increased HP motor (500)

It adds up quick when chasing the speed demons...

Get a pack reading 12 hours after receiving a full charge and keep charged as much as practical....

Part of the problem is that 12v batteries don't have that much available amperage, You might be better off with 6x 8v as they are available with higher amp ratings.

I've been reading up about the 12v to 8v conversions. But as long as my current set of 12's are working as designed then I'll leave them alone until they need replacing. No sense in spending that money if everything is working correctly.

I'll get a 12 hour rest voltage reading on the whole pack here in a few hours.

Absolutely... From the sounds of your previous readings your batteries seem completely sound and for many folks who don't demand a lot out of their batteries the 4x12 pack works just fine...

The biggest comment I'll reiterate is keep them plugged into the charger as much as practical; keep them properly watered, with clean, dry and tight connections....
