Re: Fix A Punctured Greensaver Tire Without Taking The Tire Off...?
For the last 5 years I have maintained a fleet of CC golf carts on a golf course. I have successfully plugged probably 100 tires. Never had one leak. I saw the damage green slime type products can do to rims. I actually saw one rim that had a hole eaten right through the steel rim. A lot of tire shops will not install new tires on a rim that has had slime in it because of the mess inside and damage to the rims. I have owned several off road vehicles and plugged fairly large holes with success.
I use the black rope type plugs from any auto parts store and Walmart just as they come out of the package with no extra patch glue. I have even plugged a couple of low profile tires successfully. Just my opinion. Harry |

We use a kit like this all the time. The plugs will outlast the rest of the tire.
. Available all over the place. |

Does that kit require the plug be installed from the inside of the tire?

Go with a plug. GREEN SLIME will do more harm than good over time. Have you ever seen a tire shop use GREEN SLIM ??? NO it is fine if your selling the problem to someone else.

Here http://www.slime.com/us/products/aut...e-tackle-m.php is the Slime tire kit I was suggesting.
Not the gooey liquid in the squeeze bottle. |

That crap you shoot into a tire (slime, fix-a-flat, etc) is horrible if you ever have to break the tire back down for a replacement or other repair. Most people also do not use it properly (fill tire and run for x number of miles non stop) and it just settles into one area.

Re: Fix A Punctured Greensaver Tire Without Taking The Tire Off...?
The kit I mentioned above installs the plug from the outside. The"gun" presses the mushroom head of the plug to the inside where even the air pressure in the tire helps everything stay in place. No need to dismount the tire from the rim & normally don't even need to take the assembly off the cart.

Re: Fix A Punctured Greensaver Tire Without Taking The Tire Off...?
I took my tires into Goodyear yesterday and I asked them about Fix a Flat/Green Slime. I asked if there were any ill affect from using it. There answer was no, except it will mess with the tire pressure monitors. The only complaint they had was that it was messy. The slime that I had put in 2 weeks ago was still liquid. I suppose with the tire pressure it's like putting it back in the can so it can't evaporate.

Re: Fix A Punctured Greensaver Tire Without Taking The Tire Off...?
I ended up taking the old Slime repair kit with an old plug that was with it and bought a new bottle of rubber cement. Was able to plug it and no need to take tire off. That was yesterday and no problems. If it does start to leak I'll reply. Thanks everybody.
