Re: Beating my head against the wall..PDS is dead
Your F/R switch circuit is FUBAB.
In F, you should have ~38V on Pins 1 & 3. In R, you should have ~38V on Pins 1 & 2. In N, you should have ~38V on Pin-1 only. You should never have ~38V on Pins 1, 2 & 3 at the same time. Bad F/R switch or wires shorted together. |

Re: Beating my head against the wall..PDS is dead
I've been thinking it would be something like so. I did the beep test and now says welded solenoid. I'm going to isolate the F/R switch with a jumper and see what happens. Also ohm our the wires and see if they are shorted together. I'll let you know the outcome. Thanks for sticking with me man!

The gray wire is the voltage source coming from the controller and is sent back to controller either on the green (F) or the orange (R) wires. |

Johnnie is good about that -
The welded solenoid fault is the coverall default code. It can indicate anything from shorted wires to controller failure and occasionally a welded solenoid. |

Re: Beating my head against the wall..PDS is dead
I've only worked on my own cart and I've only had it for about 6 years.
However, I've worked on electronic and electrical stuff for over half a century and I taught troubleshooting classes as a USAF Technical Training Instructor for a few years, plus field testing a few secure communications systems as well verifying and validating the manuals associated with those and other systems, so I can read schematics and wiring diagrams fairly well and read between the lines in service manuals. I was also a bit of a hot rodder in my youth and built a few cars that looked more or less stock until you looked under the hood. Like my golf cart, they were sleepers. On the other hand, while my prior knowledge and experience dovetailed nicely with golf carts, I still had a lot to learn about them and I'm still learning. |
