Question No reverse

No reverse after upgrading controller, solenoid switch, motor, and new batteries. Forward has plenty of torque . Reverse makes a clicking tries to back up but no power. Checked orange wire ow control input getting 37 votes when shifting into reverse. I did not change the reverse switch but to contacts look OK and the back up sounder is sounding and the microswitches are working.

The only difference between forward and reverse is the direction the motor spins and which high current contacts in the F/R switch are making contact.

Will switching S1 and S2 help troubleshoot?

Not really, it will go in reverse, but not forward. Basically you are manually doing what the high current contacts in the F/R switch are supposed to do when you shift the lever from F to R. (IE: Send amps through the stator in the opposite direction.)

Measure the voltage on the four studs on the F/R switch with the high current cables attached. They should all have full battery pack voltage (38.2V when pack is fully charged) on them when pedal is pushed just far enough to make the solenoid click.

voltage drops from 38 down to 34 in reverse. switched s1 an s2 and like you said reverse worked and forward did not. I guess the f/r switch cant handle the current of the new high amp motor and control.
