Default Torque and Speed

I have a 2002 EZGO 36volt series cart. It is pretty fast down hill but very slow up hill. Especially when it is under a load. What can I do to improve the torque up hill as well as increased speed? What upgrades would I need?

Williams,

I am assuming your cart is bone stock? I would suggest taking a look at cartsunlimited.com that is a sponsor for the site by ScottyB. The site will give you many options/ideas for possible upgrades.

Also, and this is important, consider your flat ground top speed to be your top speed down hills. You can Significantly over speed your motor, with disastrous ($$$$$) results, and those results could cause your rear wheels to lock up at high speed, which is nearly guaranteed to end in a wreck. I think most of us have tried going real fast down hills, some of us have paid the price.

It's ".net" not ".com".

Battery check? No sense in upgrading anything if your batteries aren't performing well.
