Wiring upgrades question
All the larger cables I can find replace only the battery cables, what about the ones to the motor, shouldn't they be larger as well? Thanks in advance!

Re: Wiring upgrades question
if you have a series cart, you need the replace all 13 cables with the same size, either 2 or 4ga. like plumbing-a smaller pipe will restrict flow. all carts are the same way, just don't know about the others numbers. check with cartsunlimited, they have some nice sets.

Just replaced all mine, added a 500 amp controller, new solenoid, HD F/R cam, battery monitor on the key switch plate, all from Scottyb. Top notch, great instructions, very easy to do.

Re: Wiring upgrades question
Thanks John C
I just sent my buddy in Colorado a complete upgrade kit for his 1995 Ezgo TXT. He received Pkg# 202B = 500AXE controller/ 400amp solenoid. HD modified F&R EZ575. A complete 13 pc 2 gauge cable set. Digital Battery meter with switch plate. He was able to install all parts in 2.5 hours without any previous golf cart mechanic experience. His feedback has helped me simplify my instructions and diagrams once more. I think we have a bombproof upgrade kit at this point. It has worked for everybody, accountants to ranchers! |

Going slow, checking myself, dielectric grease on all connections, tightening the lugs on the existing F/R, all connections tight, I was running in the 2.5 - 3 hr range as well with no prior golf cart experience. All instructions where thorough and descriptive.
Might want to add a note in the controller/solenoid sheets about using the 3/4" bolts to mount solenoid to controller. That was the only thing that came up for me that wasn't answered in the paperwork. |
