Default J2 plug question

2000 PDS, has a speed chip[(plug) I disconected the freedom chip wire and have it running on steep hill mode. Question can I remove the plug completely for all-terrain mode or does there have to be a empty plug left in the J2 slot?

Yes, it will run with no plug in J2. (All Terrain mode.)

The difference between All terrain and Steep Hill modes is Regen braking. Steep Hill has it, All Terrain doesn't.

Here are charts showing which pins are jumped for which modes and what the speed and Regen barking levels are for each.

right on thanks guys! just wanted to make sure that it was ok to just pull the whole plug out and leave J2 empty. I thought I saw a switch some where.. so that I could maybe switch between the freedom mode and steep hill mode?
Would I just wire into the the freedom mode jumper and turn it on/off for freedom mode or steep hill mode?

That is exactly how I did mine, but I also added a second switch this way you can select all four modes

I put the switch in the jumper between pins 1&5 so I could get Freedom or Mild Hill modes. (Higher speed and Regen Braking not as harsh)

I run in Mild Hill most of the time.
