Default controller upgrade placement

To start, when I upgrade to the 48v system, adding 2 new batteries, a controller, 2g cables, etc.... is the placement of the controller vital, does it have to be where it is, does it have to be covered, is there room for a 6v battery in front of the current controller spot? and still have the controller there??

I guess your talking about this-- 08 TXT-PDS?, a stock controller can not get wet, it will stop working, a after market can take getting wet, yes you can move the controller, and no there is not room for a battery in front of the controller where it is, you have to move it to fit a battery there

Thoughts are to get the #909 pkg from Scottyb, and not knowing the size of that controller, then to create a bracket to suspend the new controller above the alledged placed battery in that spot, the eighth battery opposite, (driver side), and 12v, accessory battery in the bagwell......

If you go with a smaller AGM motorcycle battery for your accessories you may not have to give up your bag well. I use one for my lights and recharge it with a 2 am trickle charger. Those small batteries have a lot of power and can handle a sizable draw. Cranking over those two huge slugs in a Harley engine, for example, isn't the work of a lightweight.
