break light wiring
Hi all,
on my Western 300 (marathon chassis), I noticed up front that there is a 2 wire harness that comes from the break pedal, not connected to anything, but there are also 2 other wires that seem to go into the dash area also not connected to anything. The 2 break wires are red (maybe orange) and brown. The other 2 from the dash harness are white and orange. I connected these 4 together (both ways), nothing, so I disconnect and tied them off to stay out of the steering linkage. How do I connect the break lights (and turn signals while i'm at it)? What is missing to complete this? I checked the light assys. and they have all of the lamps (unknown if they are good) and are wired at that end. If those other 2 wires up front are not for the lights, what are they for? Also noticed one wire with a spade connector hanging down from the dash, can't see in there as to where it goes (have no idea how to get into the dash to see better), what would this wire be for? I'm thinking an accessory as (by feeling around), everything seems to be connected. Thank you, Rick. |
