Angry 2002 TXT Series no Solonoid Click Wont Move F or R

Just replaced F R switch and all cables. No sound from Solonoid when Key activated. Cart will run when I hot wire the solonoid to the + side of the battery. Did I kill my controller? How do I check these items?

I am sure someone more qualified than myself will help you. What prompted you to change out the F R switch and wiring? Was it working before you did this work? You can use the search feature to look for more information troubleshooting this.

Check the microswitches on the F&R, be sure the wires on them are on the "com" and "nc" terminals of micros. They can be tested with the 200v DC setting on your meter, with the black lead to main negative. Next, find small red wire at charge plug under seat, unplug small wire and temporarly hook the longer portion of the wire to the main + terminal on the pack (36v +).

This install instruction shows the correct F&R ms wiring.

The contacts in four switches have to be closed to get the solenoid to click in a 2002 TXT cart with a series drive system. Turning the Key on won't make the solenoid click unless the other three are closed.

Since you just replaced the F/R switch assembly, the microswitch labeled MS-2 on the attached schematic is a likely suspect.
Could be miss-wired or the roller isn't dropping into the indentations in the outer circumference of the cam.

Thank you everyone for your help!! I used a jumper from the red wire on the F/R switch to the positive terminal of the batteries and she runs! I guess the dreaded reed switch is defective.

Those miserable things have a bad habit of failing when you are out in the middle of nowhere or when you are working on another area of cart.

Glad you got your cart going again.
