Default not stripped hub?

'17 txt was running fen. now intermittently wont go into gear.

took off both rear hubs hoping that was issue. will go in forward but when stopped and shift to reverse wont spin ir vice versa. yesterday reverse worked not forward.

next easiest thing to look at ?

Look at the cable adjustments where they connect to the differential. Safe bet the cables have stretched some and few turns of the adjustment nut(s) will pull the shift lever on the transaxle into gear again. GL

Thanks.. will check it out. Tried running again.. got unheard, ran then sounded like something slipped and grinned. Hopefully didn’t screw something up worse

Are you sure your neutral lock out isn't partially engaged?

When you go from forward to reverse and back with the shift lever, reach down in front of the transaxle and manually try to move the shift lever farther than the cables are moving it.
Might need adjustment like others said.
