Default 2 questions, steering wheel & tires

I've got a 2000 G16. Does the cover on the steering wheel just pop off? I pulled on it a little but didn't want to F it up.

And what size tires can I put on it without a lift? I'm thinking some more aggresive tires would be good but I'm not ready to spend the money on a lift for now

For the steering wheel you will need to go at it from the back. Look from underneath and you will see plastic tabs, I think 4 total. Take a flat screw driver and you can release the tabs and then the cover will then come off.

Now the shaft will be exposed and you can remove the nut. Once you do this the steering wheel will still be difficult to remove. You can get a puller at the auto parts store for 7 dollars.

I replaced mine with a Grant wheel. I had to buy a adapter kit but it bolted right up.
Good LUCK!

Thanks! I was just going to take the steering wheel off to get the plastic cover with the cup holders off so I could paint all of that. I wasn't thinking about changing the steering wheel, but yours looks great! I may have to go steering wheel shopping!

Thanks guys.. Any Grant 3 or 5 bolt wheel will work with the right adapter. Grant has an amazing amount of wheels that they make. I didnt look much before I bought this one and I wish I had because they have such a big selection. In the end Im happy with mine and I probably saved 50-100 bucks by not looking at the other options out there!!!!

So, a 20x11-8 will fit it the rear right? But not the front?

Actually I just found a set of 4 size 20x7-8. That should fit front and back right?

jakes lift is 300 bucks and you could put anything you want under it, up to 23s.... But I understand if you dont want to put the money into the lift! But it only takes 3-4 hours to install the lift.
