Your cart moving by itself sounds to me like you have the high amp wire that comes from your solenoid and connects to the second copper contact on the resistor bank (labeled #1) connected at the first copper contact. The first contact should not be wired in the closed circuit. It is the resting spot for your sliding contact when the accelerator pedal is not being depressed.
