I am hooking up the fuel pump in my 90 par car does anyone know where the vacuum hose goes from the pump?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: par car fuel pump
it connects to one of the tubes off the carb. Put one end into a gas can and put the other on one of the tubes. if it does not suck the fuel put it on the other one. there are only two of them.

Re: par car fuel pump
I only recall one barbed fitting on the carb. I am not home to check.

Here is a picture of a intake there is a barbed fitting on the bottom, would this be for the fuel pump? I do not have a fitting there on mine , but there is a hole on the left side that may not have been their originaly. I am wondering if it was added for some reason |

Re: par car fuel pump
the first pic is the housing for the reed valve. this is where the suction comes from. I believe that the line goes from the pump to there. there should be another line from the pump to the carb. Hope this helps.

Re: par car fuel pump
Mine is an '89, and one hose goes to the fuel tank, obviously, one to the carb, and the third goes somewhere below where the carb bolts on. Wish I had taken some pictures when I rebuilt the carb.

Re: par car fuel pump
I felt around befor I left for work and could not find anything. I will have to look again. Now I am pretty shure some one drilled a hole in this thing next to the intake and I am a little scared to find out why. The guy I got it from said it ran and stopped and he was not able to get it running, It had no battery or spak plug and need ed fuel lines. I addition to what he admitted to the carb was missing the float and bowl the head was on backwards and this mistery hole (NOS maybe) and the grounding strap was gone. I gave him 200 for it and I have spent another 300(parts paint lights and horn). If I need to replace the intake I will still be sitting well.

Re: par car fuel pump
Let me go out and see if I can get a picture of it. I paid $300 for mine, intact, but not running. I got it running without too much trouble, but now I need to make it reliable. I'm starting with good compression, so that's a plus.
