thanks lockman1 ,pics were a great help
it seems theres a metal bush on the primary weight where the pin slots through.
on all three primary weights this bush is worn very badly and as specs say there should be no mesureable wear them , im hoping this is the problem. the buttons look good but i may as well replace them also
the grating noise it was making was quite noticable so im hoping the new pasts will fix it
thanks for everyones help with this and ill let you know how it went when i fit the new parts

finally got weights and buttons,installed them only to find that they wernt the problem.now another hire buggy is making the same grinding noise when moving.are there any gearbox bearings etc that could make this noise,buggies run fine except for noise.thanks

well i finally found what was making the noise
the driven clutch rubber bumpers were touching the metal peakes on the other side of the plate. when the clutch engaged they pressed against each other making a horrible grating sound .pulled off clutch and aligned bumpers with valleys on the other side of the plate,no more noise
