85 ez go gas marathon- runs wont go

quick question regarding the pop, i look at the clutch that goes to the rear end and i still see slider tabs on them how big should they be?

mine doesnt pop, but when it on the jack stands, i get it started just slow enought that its running give it some gas and let off every once in a while it pops, not so loud
im sure it that slapping your talking about

with the rust and what nots on them what should i do to clean it or just let it wear off

also is there any harm it putting a squirt of 80 90 W on it

i used it al lday today with no fuel problems. i still think im gonna take a look at that fuel pump this winter after i get my jeep running enough to get it backed out of the shop.
