Re: pit crew cart
the springs mentioned earlier from cpp do a great job at increasing the torque. the drive clutch spring really has the engine revving up a bit before the clutch will engage.
if you hold the rear closed i would think it would be hard on the belt as the drive clutch will still try to close. this may put things in a bind. i would try with your old belt first. -Aaron |

Re: pit crew cart
well sorry guys i will not be modifying it. i put the new drive belt on and it ride much higher on the rear pulley giving it the extra torque. combined with going around the governor on it it has way more low end pull. its still in pieces but for the hell of it i tied a tow strap to my lift to hold the cart in place got on and tramped the gas and it will sit there and spin the tires now rather than just hum. i also adjusted the valves which helped it rev much better and since i took the rev limiter off i put red line synthetic 30W race oil in it. (we got like 20 quarts on the shelf i didn't go out and get that special for it) but i will get some pics up soon. we got all kinds of lights for it a set of horns and a cd player and speakers hooked up. the body will be getting painted shortly and we will be able to start piecing it back together.
