Default Re: 84 gas club car ds cracked transaxle

There is a place in california that I bought a transmission from thinking that I would be getting exactly what I needed. After I got it - Trash !!! I sent it back and they did however give me a complete refund. I beleive ( Someone correct me if I'm wrong,) but the trans axle is the same on an electric cart. As long as your transmission is good, you simply put the transmission in where others would mount the electric motor. I've found there are a ton of electric trans axles out there but no one thinks about using them. Hope this helps, just look on EBAY. Check the people out before you buy. Caticus

No one wants parts for electric carts except stinkfoot hippies and wannabe Prius owners who are trying to save the planet from global warming, thermal deregulation or whatever it's going to be called next week.
Mind you, I'm biased. My first and bloody last electric cart went up in flames faster than a cheap Chinese bottle rocket. I literally had to shovel it off the ground after the pyrotechnics had abated. Bloody thing went off like the a thermo nuclear test gone wrong and damned near burned my house down.
Nasty f****ng things.

Chris.
P.S. I have some electrical parts for a GEM cart for sale which is being converted to gas power. So if anyone needs some highly volatile components that may or may not spontaneously self combust in the biggest spectacle since Moses fell foul of the burning bush on Mt Sinai, feel free to contact me
