93 gas club car S/G question
Hi all!
To clarify, I have a 93 gas club car. This will probably be a long first post but I want to make sure its as clear as possible. There are many problems with this cart, but I would like to clear this up first. I just completley disassembled the s/g and cleaned it up and put it back together. It was so bad that the s/g was frozen (oil, dirt and rust). It works now. Barely. So all that said to ask this, Is the s/g supposed to stay "powered" while cart is underway? When I say powered, what I mean is, I think the "starter portion" is still trying to spin the crankshaft. Should it do that? Wouldn't that create drag on the motor, or overexert the s/g? The s/g seems to build up an awful lot of heat for being ridden a short amount of time. My limited understanding of golf cars leads me to think that once the gas motor starts running, the electric motor should stop assisting it to start right? May be it isn't assisting after it starts, but the starting micro switch is not clicked off when it's underway, so that's what makes me think it may still be engaging. Ok, WOW! Shutting up now. Thank you all in advance for taking the time to read this. Sinn6 |
