Exclamation YDRA 2008, bad valve seat?

I’ve got a 6 passenger YDRA that I pulled from a field. Multiple problems, including a new foot pedal assembly, a gas tank full of sludge. Stuck clutches, and $800 in new parts because it does have compression. Fired it up and it sounds like it doesn’t have a muffler. Upon inspection I have strait compression blowing out of the carburetor. It does run, but not well at all. Will only get around half throttle. Valve lash is .006 so they are closing. Before I pull the head, any input? Thank you.

Just to clarify, does it have a muffler, and is clear ? When you say it has compression - do you have numbers ? For anything to be coming back out the carb, either there is a huge offset on the camshaft - or a valve is hanging open.

hey steve, thanks for responding, what i found was a clogged exhaust. I was able to clean it out now it runs great. I guess the compression I was feeling was during valve overlap. it runs great now.
