New to electric golf carts looking for help in understanding speed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 2012 48v club car with speed code 4. If I was to order speedy link or the so called high speed magnet would I get any more speed? From me guessing the system reads pulses from the magnet, determines speed from there. Guessing again speed code 4 only reads every other pulse which is what the high speed magnet and speedy link does. If I am way off could someone please educate me. Thanks |

Speed code 4 gives you 19.6 mph limit. Magnet or speedy link lets you go as fast as the power you have will take you. Somewhere around 20-23 mph.
PQ motor will get you around 25-26 mph. Larger cables and controller will get you even more. Depend on how much you want to spend, money = speed and torque |

Thank you for your help. I was thinking I wouldn't gain a thing by replacing the magnet or adding speedy link already having speed code 4. I wouldn't mind having a little more but not much due to the kids riding it.

Ask TahoedawgZ71, he sells high quality magnets but not sure if it will work with your year cart, not sure Speedy Link would work either.

What's the serial number? If it's the Excel system neither one of them will work.

Jakesnake is correct. But lots of people are told they have the IQ system when they have excel because a lot of people don't know the difference.
