Default DS Charge problem with upgraded stuff

ok, here is a doosey. Have a IQ DS cart, custom motor, 500amp SC, 400 amp SC, #2 wires, all done.

When I ran the bigger wires the ground wire would not fit through the hole in the frame where the old one ran. (it went through the computer too) Not knowing any better I ran around it when replacing that wire. Cart won't charge now becuase the computer evidently looks for the amp draw on that wire that is not there.

What do I do now? The original wires were getting hot because of their size. new wire won't fit through the hole.

Go buy a 3 1/2" long 5/16 brass bolt and build a stud to complete the 2ga pack negative cable connection through the OBC.

Just cut the head off the bolt.

You also need to wrap a few turns of electric tape on the bolt section that goes inside the OBC to eliminate any erosion of the foam like potting material used by the OBC.

Or you can buy one from ScottyB.

I was going to say just buy one from Carts Unlimited, but you could use that as a model to make your own.

That looks like a much better solution than what I have now. I called ECC (where I got the cables) and they suggested running the old ground wire in parallel through the OBC along with the by-passed big cable. That works but the charger does not seem to want to turn off now for some reason.

I'd love to understand that better if any of you guys know why that is.

This was my explanation from a while ago:

Sergio, thank you! Changing it up to stud, and will let you guys know. Bypassing with parallel wires made the charger run again but would not shot down I guess due to improper feeback.
