04 Precedent IQ No power No solinoid click
I just purchased a 2004 Precedent IQ, it has a DCX-300 Amp Alltrax purchased in Mar 2012 along with a 200 amp solenoid replacement during the same time.
When you put into reverse the buzzer doesn't buzz(maybe disconnected) but the solenoid doesn't click in forward or reverse. When I turn the key on the LED on top the controller doesn't light or blink. The previous owner stated he was told the controller was out again, not sure who gave him this information..... I got the cart at a good deal, but don't want to turn good deal into bad deal by putting unnecessary money into it. The batteries are newer (2013 ) and they do take a charge. My question, how do I test the solenoid to make sure it isn't my problem? How do I test the controller to see if it needs to be replaced ? Does anyone have any other insight ?????? Thanks ahead of time.. |

First be sure you put cart on tow before working with electrics. Then unhook main neg. then pos. battery cables. You can then put both large cables on the same post on the solenoid. Hook everything back up. If it works that means you solenoid is either bad, or the activation circuit is not working. Start with that.

Re: 04 Precedent IQ No power No solinoid click
If the onboard computer is bad the controller can't power up. The onboard computer supplies power to the controller's control circuit. Un-plug the six pin connector behind the onboard computer and put a jumper between pin 2 and pin 6, (red and blue) and try to operate the car with the jumper in place. This will bypass the onboard computer circuit and allow the car to run without one. If it runs, replace the onboard computer.

Forget what I said. David knows a lot more about carts than I ever will.

It also sounds like it might not be powering up. Check for 48 volts at the key switch. It could be a bad run/tow sw or a blown fuse. It would be helpful if you had a laptop connected to it.

Re: 04 Precedent IQ No power No solinoid click
Update, I changed the controller to a stock controller and new solenoid, We have power but I have a new problem.
With selector switch in forward the cart goes backward and vise versa. Remember the cart wasn't running when I purchased it so not sure who may have worked on it prior. I verified I have the wires S1 and S2 connected correct and large white wire in the middle slot on controller. Any help appreciated, I know it is something simple but I can not think of it. |

Since the reverse buzzer is not working, go by the speed of the cart.
Ignore what position the FNR switch is on, just focus on how fast the cart goes. If the cart goes slower on reverse than it does on forward, swap 2 outside wires in the FNR switch. If the cart goes faster on reverse than it does on forward, swap the F1 and F2 spade connectors on the controller. |

Reverse A1 and A2. Alltrax has them wired backwards from Curtis controllers.
