2001 DS "bucks" or "jerks" at low speed...
I have a 2001 DS regenerative cart. 48V. I have 2 issues actually. First it is really annoying that at low speed it bucks or jerks constantly. If you put the pedal to the floor it runs out perfect. Just at low speed....
Next it will never ever stop charging. I was told it was a bad cell in a battery causing this and that the charger could never see the completed circuit so it would never shut off. I just put 6 brand new batteries in it and it still does the same thing. |

The bucking and jerking could be the contact of the wiper arm in the v glide needs cleaning and adjusting.

Could you elaborate a little? I am not at all sure as to what your talking about. I have no problem with mechanical work, I am just not fully versed when it comes to golf carts

RE: V-Glide (Actually a multi-step potentiometer in your cart) servicing, see THIS THREAD. It may be causing the jerking if misaligned or damaged in some way.

Re: 2001 DS "bucks" or "jerks" at low speed...
OBC stands for on-board-computer. That's a bit of a misnomer, because its primary purpose is to control charging. One thing you might check first, is that someone hasn't modified your charging circuit in the cart. Its common for people to run a negative wire right from the charger port on the cart, to the negative battery(when their OBC fails, as they are prone to do). Doing that "bypass" causes the charger to run continuously....unless you are the original owner - its worth checking.
Only the Red lead should go directly to a battery post - the negative lead from the charger socket should go to the OBC (see this wiring diagram for your cart) - make sure none of the charging wires have been altered. |

My cart was jerking like yours at low speed. Turn key off and press gas pedal all the way down and up like 30 times fast to clean the mcor. That fixed mine. Now to order a new mcor.

Unless somebody upgraded it, his cart is not likely to have a MCOR, so that "fix" doesn't apply. When manufactured, his cart would have been equipped with a multi-step-potentiometer.
