Default electric to gas

I have a 93 electric club car and am just sick of the batteries I want to convert it to gas powered machine but I want to do it the right way because I do use it for golf only I was wondering if anyone has completed this task also if anyone has a idea of how long it would take and how much it would cost don't mind the work if its affordable a good set of batteries would run about $1000 so if it isn't to much higher than that give or take a few bucks I would really appreciate some help

The engine alone is more than $1000. If you did happen to come across an engine cheap, you'd still need a transmission if you plan on using your existing rear drive unit. The problem here is that the transmission is no longer sold by Club Car and you'd be very lucky to find one. This means you'd have to buy an entirely new 1997+ "unitized" differential that includes the transmission and differential all in one case. The unitized differential will only work with clockwise rotation engines, which are hard to find in the aftermarket world unless you're planning on going with an actual OEM golf car engine. Clutches are going to cost you between $350 and $500. Belts around $50. A couple hundred for a starter/generator, Fuel tank $100 or so.... You'd be much better off finding a used gas vehicle instead of converting this one.

Sell your cart and buy a gas one! The conversion is a big deal. If you want reverse, you have to change the rear end.
