30 mph Club Car ?

Bottom line, 30 mph is just not safe in a golf cart designed for less than half that speed.

There you go look at SWAN'S sig line and compare it to mine.... He has a 700 amp cart and can pull low 30's whereas I've got a 500 amp cart and can pull mid 20's on the flat and nearest to 40 with the wind and hills in my fav.... A 500 amp upgrade will set you back well over 1K before all is said and done....

To which I don't regret the expence even if I rarely run high speeds as it's nice to simply have the power to drive up steep hills in our HOA that other elec carts just can't do....

I can run mid 30's on the flat. See my signature line for what I did to get there.
Also, you will need wheels/tires that are a larger diameter than stock.

Yes, it is scary at that speed.

This really makes me rethink. I really REALLY, want a 40-45+ mph cart. I want to lower one. and just make it a bad azz ( ground pounder ) ride. Seeing this dose not really change my mind as to what I want. BUT... maby change to somthing that will smoke the tires at will. or maby look more into somthing like a drift cart. ( Sliding the rear ) ; I don't want to hyjack the thread but looks like we are both looking for almost the same thing.

I have a different cart but the gist of them are the same. Expensive motor,controller and cables will get you a top end of 30.

I hit the golf cart jackpot and found all the parts for $400 out of a wrecked cart. I was going to make it a budget build. But when you can hit 30 with all stock suspension, old steering and brakes it's too dangerous.

I was afraid for my life and drifting And swaying at 25+. I had to go with new heavy duty leaf springs on the front and back, new steering box, and a steering stabilizer. I still need to upgrade the brakes, I have to start slowing down real early before I stop.

I made a 8 mile trip and averaged 24mph, with a top speed of 37 coasting down hill. When you get over 20-22 it's not all that fun to me. Your just concentrating on not flipping the golf cart.

But if I had unlimited funds it would be sweet to build one with custom lowered and widened suspension, roll bars, and a top speed of 50-60mph.

Could always be part cart and part side X side. But that's NOT what I want. all cart , I see the drag carts, And I'm a speed junkie. I broke my back a couple years back. I have pin's and Rod's holding me together. I have had all the toy's that I was told I would never be able to have. I do it just to prove the Dr wrong. He is not happy when I take him pitchers of my toys.The cart is fun and safe so far. Would just like to have one diffrent from most.

You can spend a fortune to get a cart that runs 30+ and it won't be safe. There carts were engineered to be run at about 17. I had a cart that ran well over 30, and I only did it once. With an IQ cart I recommend starting with a speed magnet and moving from there. The magnet is the least expensive entry level speed increase you can get. If you need more from there, then we move into motors, controllers, cables, solenoids, etc.

As others have said, 30 is running pretty good.. I have a 2010 CC. It will run 27-28 on flat road with just a D&D and cables.. I feel a set of gears and a good controller would easily get me over 30... I would then add a real good braking system ...

Living in a retirement community, the speed isn't a problem.. It's the older people that can no longer see stop signs and never look left or right!

And yes, mine is on the golf course 6 days a week..
