Check all those things, but I'm not ruling out the carberator, Genuine Yamaha OEM parts are the only way to go, if your looking for a trouble free car.

I'd clean the old carb and reinstall it, but keep reading this site!!

Once the cart has started, runs fine. Its at that point of ignition. So if its a bad carburetor, would it not miss or something? Runs like a top once it gets going.

This whole thing started with a bad coil. Wish I hadn't replaced all the other stuff. Fix one problem only to create another.

I've only had two carts, the other was a 82 Yamaha............mix gas and oil type. Never a minutes trouble for 20+ years....That's why I stuck with Yamaha.................I've already sunk 250.00 in this thing and still not working correctly. In my part of the country we just don't have a good cart repair shop. Just friends and neighbors trying to help the best they can.

I'm not a mechanic by any stretch. Think I should just sell it and get a newer model. I've fought this all summer and am worn out with it. I just want to play golf!!

Maybe go back and check the gap on the coil.

Was it an OEM part? It does make a difference in most cases...

Where are you located? The G22 is a desirable cart.

I'm sure none of the parts are OEM.......Is there an easy way to check the gap on the coil? To replace the coil was a big pain. Had to loosen the engine bolts, difficult to line it back up correctly. I did check the battery, shows fully charged.

Never done it, but I've heard that a matchbook cover works well...

And aftermarket TCI modules have been problematic.

Sir, I'm not going to let you give up on a wonderfull car like your G22. I am going to ask you to go to the auto parts store and by a "dynamic spark tester", should be 8 to 10 dollars. It plugs onto the the spark plug and into the the spark plug cap and you can watch the "orange" spark. We need to find out if it's a spark or fuel problem. Sometimes, you just need to start over on a diagnoss's and start from square one.

Fuel problem, at times, choking does help. Also, when it is taking some time to go, pushing the cart or letting it roll down hill, seems to help. Must be sucking air? Or lousy carb? Adjusting carb. won't help?

Finally found someone that new how to work on golf cart...........Actually it was pretty simple......the fuel pump was bad, vacuum lines and of course I had fouled the spark plug by choking it so much...........up and running now......Thanks for all your input. I just wish they made Yamaha's like they used to . Had a 1982, drove it to death, sold it in about 2010. Gave me no trouble............I've had the 2004 less than 5 years, replaced carbuator, fuel pump, coil, and hoses............Probably will need a valve job in the near future..........
