98 Yamaha G16 Rear or Clutch
My 1998 Yamaha G16 started clunking into gear when I put it in the forward position and try accelerating . The rear fluid level is fine. I had greased the clutches during the season and did a complete tune up. I am not sure if this could be a clutch issue or the rear. I'm the third owner and the cart has a lot of hours on it. It seams to run fine once it begins moving. It also does not do this all the time. Any help would be great. I don't want to just start throwing parts at, because I would just be guessing

Re: 98 Yamaha G16 Rear or Clutch
Take the primary clutch cover off, and look for flat spots on the 3 rollers. Replace the rollers and pins that go inside them, if there are flat spots on the rollers!!

You might also want to look if the circlip on the input shaft is OK. Another area to look at is the ramp shoes they certain do wear out and make a racket when going into gear.
