Default Oil light on - Need Part Number

My oil light came on last night. The oil level is good! I have done the research and understand I may have a bad oil sensor. I don't have a part list or diagram and am hoping someone can help me with the part number(s). Could the reason the lite is on be anything else?

Its for a gas 2008 Yamaha - YDRA.

When's the last time you changed the oil? It may just have some junk in there laying on the sensor or there may be something up with the wiring from the sensor to the light.

I'm not completely sure about your model but for my G8 & G16 the engine has to come out and the side case has to come off to get to the sensor. The sensor is attached to the case cover. It's not hard to pull the motor but I'm not sure I'd wanna do it for the oil light sensor.

On my G14 it was mounted on the bottom of the oil sump.Easy to change from the underside of the cart.

Just curious -- is it causing it to run funny or not at all? On the G2 the oil light is operated through the ignition module and it caused mine to run erratic then not at all. Checked my oil -- all was fine. Disconnected the sensor lead from the engine -- started and all is well. Long story but it may not be the sensor -- it may be a short.

I believe that the sensor is located inside the engine case and would require engine removal and disassembly to repair. It is for oil level only and just an indicator. It does not shut down the engine or have any other function.

If you keep an eye on the oil level, the sensor/light isn't really necessary. Duct tape...

The cart runs fine with the light on. The light will not turn off without disconnecting the sensor. I don't want to just put tape over it because it will still drain my battery when on. I have a wife and kids who "forget" therefor I am looking to make the repair.
