I know this sounds strange but it cleared up the same problem on my 89 ,, try removing and reinstalling the plug wire , there is a screw in the bottom of the coil where it fits that it must be screwed down onto . Sounds strange but when I did this mine cleared up .

i think i read a post about that ..maybe you wrote? but i did try that yesterday ...i think i'm going to pull the pulser coil and (clean it?) or something, in the morning. thank you for the help!

i got it finally! i pulled the motor out again and saw that i pinched the pulser wires they were grounding themselfs out i guess. i have spark so im going to bolt it back together and see if she moves!!
