Default microswitch id please

'88 Marathon gas unit.
There is a microswitch located inside the "firewall" where the throttle pedal linkage comes in to the engine compartment.

Can anyone advise what this switch is and what it does. The linkage on mine is adjusted out to where it doesn't touch and the wire that plugs into the top side is unhooked. Oh by the way, the cart won't crank either.

Thanks for the good info I know I'll get.

That's your starter switch , they sometimes come with spacers on the mounting bolts to line them up with the linkage . somewhere on this site there is a wiring diagram to show where the wires go .
If the spacers are gone I think they are also available from the site sponcer or you could fabricate them from a plastic sink or commode supply line .
