Re: not getting gas
compression test was cold of course, and the choke was open and the pedal was on the floor. Didn't spray anything (lube etc) into the cylinder first.

Re: not getting gas
Well you asked for it. sorry we don't see a need for talking "dumb" to people or that fact we might joke some. We are glad to try and help with your problem, but don't mistake that for holding your hand and walking you step by step through your problem. I expect for people that come here for advice to have rudimentary mechanical skills. You don't need to tell anyone here "if you gonna smart off do it after you have offered some helpful advise" We owe you nothing, your not paying for, or supporting this forum in any manor. We have offered our knowledge and experience to benefit all carting enthusiast, we do in a genuine effort to help others that share our same interest. You haven't the right to dictate to us how we do this or any other thing on this forum. As for me "giving the forum a bad rep" I really doubt it. But then again, it's up to me to decide that, not you.

Awwwwwwww Can't we all just get along...
Fixitlane you did set yourself up in the beginning by asking us to talk dummy to you. Hopefully now that the AIR is clear. Things can move on. |

Alright, We are off to another start. Fixitlane, Could you gravity feed some fuel to the carb to determine if you have pick up or pump problems? If it still doesn't run then it might be dirty carb or worse crank seals or compression. 90lbs is kinda on the border of it might run or not. While you crank it over hold your hand or rag over the carb and see if it pulls fuel that way. Mitch And again, Welcome to BGW................. |

Re: not getting gas
back to the start (after the knee slappin laughs!!)
you said the problem was on fuel in the filter. pull the fuel line off the carb and turn the motor over, if theres no gas coming thru the line then its likely a fuel pump, clogged fuel line in the tank or at the top of the tank. check the easy stuff first, sounds like it would run if it was getting gas (since it pops with a shot of starter fluid) at 90 comp. it will still run, just not very well. good luck, Dew |

Re: not getting gas
Remove the fuel line going to carb.
crank engine over and see if fuel comes out. If it does not. check to see if tank fuel pickup tube is still attached (they will fall off) The fuel pump is a pulse type, it works from the vacuum and pressure created from the movement of the piston. All hoses to pump must be clean and in good shape, no cracked or dry rot. The fuel pump will go bad, it may not be working. check its diaphragm to make sure it's not ruptured. If the crank seals are blowed out or there is a breach in the case that doesn't allow it to create vac. or pressure this can cause the pump not to work. If it Does Clean out the carb |

Re: not getting gas
Cleaned the carb out good, the jet was plugged. Got it open and we are still gravity feeding the fuel pump. Got it to fire off and run briefly then died off. Sprayed a little gas straight into the carb and it fired off. Going to clean the carb again and the fuel pump and see if it will do anything.
