Re: Precedent Alltrax XCT install, solenoid doesn't click
The OBC 12ga and 6ga are connected at controller B-. The sense wire also has a good connection. Right now, it seems I have an issue of getting the charger to engage a charge.

Re: Precedent Alltrax XCT install, solenoid doesn't click
You said You removed the 6ga cable and replaced it with a 4ga through the OBC using a stud????
You cannot have 2 cables from pack negative to controller B-. Did you also reconnect the 12ga red wire that was crimped with the original 6ga cable at the Solenoid? Make sure that red wire is on the battery side of the Solenoid. |

Re: Precedent Alltrax XCT install, solenoid doesn't click
Sergio,
My XCT-48500-IQ controller dated 10-12-2016, set to Throttle Type: Club Car IQ/i2 (MCOR), blinks 5 (five) times at key on power up. This IS NOT consistent with the current Operators Manual DOC113-006-C_OP-XCT-Operators-Manual.doc, page 28, currently posted on the Alltrax website Hope this helps. Re: Precedent Alltrax XCT install, solenoid doesn't click
Could it be a faulty OBC? What would keep it from charging?

Re: Precedent Alltrax XCT install, solenoid doesn't click
That is what it looks like since all of the connections are correct but none of the functions of the OBC are working.
Follow the OBC by-pass procedure in the stickies for the IQ/Excel carts. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...excel-obc.htmlYou will need to buy a "smart" charger from a site sponsor. After the by-pass procedure is done, temporarily run the gray "Sense" wire directly to pack negative. This step will not be needed with the new charger. The charger will not have any control (always ON) so You need to manually unplug it when the pack gets to 60v. Plug the DC plug to the cart first. The reason for the steps above is to prevent a large spark at the cart receptacle when the OLD charger is plugged/unplugged. |

Interesting. I've read up on bypassing the OBC before, and it seems as simple as ever.
Forgive my ignorance, but can you elaborate which wires at the plug receptacle are the AC and D.C.? |

Re: Precedent Alltrax XCT install, solenoid doesn't click
They are not on the same plug, I was referring to the 2 cables on the charger.
The cart receptacle is DC. The house wall power is AC. |

Re: Precedent Alltrax XCT install, solenoid doesn't click
Today, I managed to get the cart going! A big thank you to David Hicks with Revolution Golf Carts for helping on a Saturday. I'm not sure what exactly did the trick, other than flipping the tow/run switch back and forth w few times...
Now, tomorrow I shall tackle the charger not kicking on. Is there anyway to rule out the possibility that one of the settings on the alltrax XCT could be keeping the cart from charging before I bypass the OBC? Or is there a bench test that I can do on the OBC to make double sure that The OBC is faulty? |
