36 volt club car
I have to occasionally tap my solenoid to get my cart to move.
the solenoid is new, the batteries are fine, not sure why it intermittently does this but I do not think it is sticking. I think there is another issue. Any suggestions? |

Re: 36 volt club car
My solenoid does not have side posts. It has two large posts and two small posts all on top of it.

Re: 36 volt club car
I hope I'm not overstating the obvious but, if you hit the solenoid and it engages you know 2 things.
1.The activation circuit is working. 2. The plunger is sticking Check the voltage on the activation circuit. If it is up to the solenoid rated voltage put the hammer away and swap in a new better solenoid. |

this is my second brand new solenoid. they both have done this.
I am at a loss because it makes no sense. why would two brand new solenoids stick?? |

Re: 36 volt club car
Check the wiring on both the+ & - wires
Wiggle connectors, crimps Any splices Find/Follow the small+ wire from start ...thru the key.... to solenoid - wire also Sounds like a weak/loose intermittent connection somewhere |

What kind of solenoid?
Cheap ebay purchase? Cheap isn't the way to go when you are working on the "heart" of your cart... |

Re: 36 volt club car Solenoids pre-1987
Be careful of solenoids made in China, sold by Amazon. They look the same as American Made. But, the plunger that makes contact with the large terminals will not carry the amps need for continious operation. Needs to be beefed up with heavier gauge copper.

Re: 36 volt club car
Just replaced the motor on my 86 1/2 Club Car. The motor was getting hot when running a short distance. Still have the bounce though.
