Default EZGO Timming and backfire

I wanted to share this with you all. I have and 2001 EzGO GAS and it was backfiring... I tried everything, I adjusted the valves (dozen times)and cleaned the carb and everything you could think of. I heard these things just dont jump time, but mine did. Finnaly removed the timing belt cover to inspect it and the belt was real loose and the timing was off by one tooth. Fixed that and now she runs great! So sometimes this does happen, My friends all laughed at me when I bought the puller, but it had to be. and it was.

I just wanted to share this with you all to prove it does happen.

For one to jump timing the tensioner would have to not be working. I guess anything can happen but about the only way you'll get that part to fail is for it to loosen up.... somehow.....

The bolt was tight and the belt was loose. My bet is it was built originally with the tensioner not adjusted correctly. Darn Foreign child labor, cant trust them!
