Default 1981 Ez-go Help!!!!

Hey guys love the forum! Im new and I have a 1981 ez-go 2 stroke that i use for a RV park. My problem is that when I ride it for about 5 Min and let it shut off it wont start again until it cools off. But if im riding it as long as i dont let it shut off it will run as long as i want it to. when its running it runs great but i cant stop or it wont start. But it will crank very strong. If you guys could help it would be great. THANKS

Welcome to the forum. I'm too familiar with the 2 strokes but I'm sure someone here has ran across this. I would start with all the basic tune up items first. Make sure it is getting fuel, air, and spark after it shuts off and will not start back.

have you checked to see if it's getting spark to the plug when it doesn't want to start?

It only takes three things to make her run? Are you sure you have spark & fuel when she won't run?

Ok i took a look at it last night and im getting spark but its not very strong. Do you think that it could be the coil? Or maybe an engine ground??

could very well be the coil, that's what i'd be guessing. one odd way to check it is when it happens again, pour some water on the coil to cool it down then see if it'll start
