Default Re: Question on my Alltrax install

I decided since I wasn't getting anywhere I installed the 400 amp solenoid from ScottyB. I am getting the exact same results. just shudders either direction. Since I changed the solenoid let me know if yo still need more photos. As you can see the one larger wire eyelette is just under the post until I can put a larger connector on there but it is tight.

Just an update to my previous post. I thought the solenoid must be actuating as it shudders when I try to move but I don't hear it click. Also when I push it with the key on it beeps but still moves freely if that helps at all in diagnosing my problem

No solenoid activation without the diode installed means there is no power between the 2 small wires to activate the solenoid.
For the small red wire with the big ring terminal cut the ring in the center and open it up a little to fit on the post with the battery main + cable (not the controller B+ cable)

Ok I do have it temporarilly under the washer on the solenoid post so it should be what you are talking about but I will split the connector and do as you say.

Is it safe to connect the large battery wires that connect to both sides of the solenoid to basically simulate it being energized just to test to see if the cart will work since it seems the solenoid must not be energizing.

I think the other small solenoid terminal is lacking its black wire. I'm just working from memory & dont recall both solenoid small wires being red.

there are no other wires that are not connected. :( Since I am partially disabled and need this for my transportation am tempted to put the old controller and solenoid back in but really don't want to waste over $600.00 which I don't have to waste.

DO you have a voltmeter? Can you see if there is 48 volts between the 2 small posts when you press the gas? IF yes the solenoid should be clicking. If yes 48v and no click put both big cables on the same post and see the cart run.

Ok I will get a voltmeter and test today. I am pretty sure no signal to the solenoid but I figure the solenoid must be good as it did the same thing with the old solenoid though it worked before i started the project. Will post later today after I find a voltmeter. Are the small control wires that actuate the solenoid fused anywhere? I will post my results later this morning.

Kind of good news. At least everything is hooked up right. When I put the power cables together jumping around the solenoid it works perfect so the solenoid is not working. Wires are both hooked up. Didn't put the diode in yet but from instructions it's ok for testing anyway. Are the solenoid actuating wires fused anywhere. So close
