Random Solenoid Issues - I think...
Alright, so my cart has the Alltrax 400a controller (with cooler), upgraded motor and upgraded 400a Solenoid and new Trojan batteries.
Yesterday, after removing the charger and about to take the cart out, i unplug it, and start to back up. Immediately, the cart starts to stutter like its getting barely enough power. Pulled out the multi-meter and went to work. All batteries were pushing close to 13v, and the whole package was getting about 52, after a full charge. I then realized that the solenoid did not click, but somehow i was still getting some power. So, i thought the solenoid was stuck maybe partially open? I removed the solenoid, took it apart and ensured that it all worked mechanically. I put it all back together and, boom, it worked again. Took it for a spin, no issues. Alltrax software showed good to go, no errors. This morning (no charging last night), it presented the same issue. Same exact stuttering and issues. I ran alltrax and saw this....So i went ahead and ordered a new solenoid as i think that is the culprit...but i wanted to ask here as well. If the cart was getting "some power" and the batteries were fine, would that be a solenoid issue? I pray it isnt the controller. |

So i guess it was the solenoid being selective when it wanted to work? Tried old solenoid today, same issue - installed new one, and the cart worked as normal.
I didnt know the solenoids could go out over time.... |

Re: Random Solenoid Issues - I think...
Had the same problem in the last few weeks on a new install. Called alltrax for support. They had me hook up my laptop and anazlize problem. Everything checked out so tech said I had a bad controller. Talked to him on Friday and he said controller checked out fine but maybe it was a bad setting. I had the same problem with no solenoid and shuttering. Will post when I get my controller back. Should be in the next day or two. I am concerned that sending back the same controller it will still have the same problem. While waiting I put my old controller back in but left the 400 amp solenoid like you have and it works fine. Mine was on my Yamaha G29 2015,

Re: Random Solenoid Issues - I think...
Just an update in case you didn't read it on another thread it was a bad controller that was causing what looks like a similar problem you were having due to solenoid not getting energized.
