That "super convenient flat area" is the perfect place to put things you want to test for resistance to battery acid! Most accessories I see mounted there end up covered in corrosion. The neighbors dont have to worry for long, it wont be so clean looking in a year. Especially with US batteries, they are the messiest brand in my opinion.

CGTech, I am much more OCD than you are giving me credit for... lol. I have had this exact setup for going on 4 years now and still looks like the day I installed it (obviously added the one extra converter with the sub recently). I also check and clean under there probably weekly. The US batteries do have drops showing ontop the batteries from time to time but with a quick wipe it is clean! I also don’t off-road my cart though..could cause more problems if not on flat ground...
