Default Buying advice. Non running rxv $1000

I am probably crazy for considering this because I’m still trying to get my brother’s rxv running.

$1000 for an rxv 48v, doesn’t run. Sounds like it does nothing at all. Batteries are in it, but they aren’t good and will not be included for the $1000. I do have batteries I can put in it for testing purposes, but I’ll need to buy new ones if it gets running. Includes 2 controllers, so the guy tried to fix it and assumed it was the controller and it wasn’t (or the 2 controllers are both bad). Rear body damage, might need rear body replaced, definitely needs bumper.

So what are some opinions out there? Obviously if I start throwing parts at it it will add up quickly, but if it’s one or two even major components then it might still be a deal.

Edit- current owner does not know the year.

Look up the differences in the curtis controller models (2012.5 & newer), and Danaher controller models (2012 & older). Then find out what type the one your looking at is. If its danaher, skip it. The Danaher controllers are grey, the curtis are black.

Well he sold it last night, but it’s good to know what controller to look for.
