Default Throttle adjustment

I just put on a neww throttle cable, and now my cart surges at low speeds. I tried to adjust the cable but it still surges, could it be the micro switch or something else?

There should be a spring between the throttle lever and the cable stop, this spring must be compressed to keep the throttle closed until the pedal is moved far enough away from the micro switch so that you can run low speed with very little throttle. Once you have the spring compressed, with the key off push on the pedal and watch the throttle lever, it should stay closed while the cable stop is moving away from the lever and then the throttle should begin to move. As to how much to compress the spring, play with it until your problem goes away.

Mine did the same thing and that was the fix.

I have no sring on the cable, the only spring is on the top of the carb that moves the lever to open up the throttle.

Then you will need to get one or you will continue to have the problem. It is a 1/4" x 3/8" long compression spring medium gauge wire (not real light but not real heavy), there needs to be a fair amount of pressure.

Email "ezgomike" http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/members/ezgomike/
and ask him for the specs or contact your local dealer or I am sure any of the site sponsors will have it available.
