You probably will have to remove the head because in order to pull the crank out, the connecting rod will still be in the way if you push the pistion all the way to TDC.

Some of the yamaha cranks just didnt have 2 indicating marks on the crank gear.. well the ones that ive seen.. Supposively in the rebuild manual these 2 marked cranks existed. lol

Dont forget to prelube the crank bearings and such when you put the engine back together, this will help pervent a dry start and seize the motor.
@ monster i like your builds also was having problem with yamaha balancer install , do i prelube all parts with the same synthetic oil as i run in my cart ? or do i need a special assembly prelube ? BTW im just down the road from bradford , im on queensville side rd :) . thx for any help with this prelube question
